Saturday - Back in town.  Very tired.

Friday 16 February 2018
Friday - Went up and visited with Don and Mary in Ojai.  Beautiful weather up there.  We discussed house flooring, and siding, and other things of interest to house re-modelers, then I headed back to Lancaster. 

I took the I-5, but it was surprisingly busy for early on a Friday.  It turns out that this is going to be a three day weekend, with President's Day on Monday.  So no work in Saticoy until Tuesday.

At one point I passed someone in a "smart car" doing about 35mph up the grade, in the number three lane of five or six.  Dangerous stuff.  Car's probably smarter than the driver...

Good to be back, and back in my own "home" finally.

Thursday - OTR. More of the same.

Too tired to do anything after work, just went back to the boat and was asleep before 9pm.  Cold again, but I remembered that I had a perfectly good sleeping bag on the boat, and was quite comfortable.

Wednesday -  OTR. Got up at 4:30, and was on the road just a bit before 5:00.  Got to Saticoy early, went to Jack In The Box for coffee and a potty stop.

The contractor was already on site, some holes dug, and there were a lot of county personnel present to see the repair process.  Not much to say, a very tiring day.  Headed back to the boat mid afternoon, put the goods in the fridge, and pretty much just crashed.  Horrible traffic, over an hour to get from Saticoy to Oxnard...

A cold night, and I couldn't find the little electric heater.

Tuesday 13 February 2018
Tuesday - Did some laundry, in preparation for being on the road later this week.  It turns out that the ancient smoke detector works well - it went off when I failed to close the bath door and the steam came out into the hallway!

Jim was not happy with the noise!

Picked up a care package from S for D&M in Ojai.  Not sure when I'll get there, tomorrow is likely to be busy, but everything is in a cooler and I have a small fridge on the boat.

Monday - General unpacking and work around the house.

Frontier finally showed up, just before 5pm, and turned my internet on.  Everything is set for moving in. 

Moved the cats, one by one.  I couldn't get Jim or Budd into the carrier, so I just carried them in the car.  They clung to me, and were so engrossed with the scenery that they didn't really make any moves to escape.  I put Suzy in the bedroom, with Jimmy, with the door closed, while Budd got the run of the rest of the place.  The two older cats pretty much stayed under the bed all night.  Budd roamed around, curious, back straight and tail up...indoors holds no terrors for a cat from the street!

Sunday - I went shopping with S and picked up a few things for the house.  Not much, I'm going to be gone most of the week.  I'll stop by and see Don and Mary, if Sheryl has a care package for them by tomorrow sometime.


Finished moving my junk in, with the boy's help.  Will move in tomorrow, with cats...
