Saturday - Reasonable. Did various things around the house.
Took a picture of a beautiful full moon rising to the NE.
This was the annual Pagan Pizza Party, with S bringing home made pizza over to the Hicks next door. Very very tasty. A couple of the boys were missing - movie night with, I assume, girls, but those of us there did the best we could!!
Book #71 was Arctic Sea (Lenson #21), by David Poyer. Again, a decent workmanlike book, but no new ground.
Friday - OK weather.
Went out in the morning and 'finished' the pavers around the steps in back at the french doors. Nothing is level, or symmetrical, or a standard dimension when it comes to the previous owners work, but I did the best I could with what I had (slightly warped 4x4's, sand and garden pavers). It's better than what it was I suppose.
I need to square up and lay out the pad for the patio proper, then do that, and call it 'done' for the year. I doubt I'll get it done next week though, too much to do getting the house ready for Christmas dinner here.
Thursday - Decent weather.
Note to self: Eggnog is not a good milk substitute in morning coffee.
Made a trip into town with AH, and refilled my empty propane bottle. Always feels better to have a full backup! There were quite a number of people ahead of us, I think we probably had to wait an hour for our turn. But the weather was decent, and it's not like I was missing work.
S mentioned she wasn't feeling well, and went into town and got the drive-thru Covid test. It took a few hours, but it came back negative, so that's good.
Wednesday - Overcast weather. Very cold. Snow on the Tehachapi's and the Angele's in the morning.
Went down to La Verne with AH, to help repair a fence at his FIL's place, that had blown down in the last storm. That went well, we took the truck and some left over posts from my yard, and with A driving it was smooth sailing.
First Eggnog and rum of the Season!
Tuesday - Decent weather.
I had my annual physical with the Kaiser doc this morning. I went in early to got my blood drawn, then went over to check in and they took me in early for the doc too. Yay. No show stoppers, but he does want another type of blood test, in the new year.
Ran the pellet stove all night. The cats were delighted, and abandoned me to sleep near the stove.
Monday - Decent weather. Cold.
I thought I was free of doctors this week, only to get a friendly reminder from Kaiser that my annual checkup is tomorrow. Bah.
I have invited M and B and G to come for Xmas dinner here. Mike says yes, but B and G are thinking about it. It's a long drive and the weather is always an issue.
I'll just do something easy, the ham, and some potatoes and a veggie. Someone has offered to bring a pie, so that's cool, but I'll pick up some ice cream just in case.
Sunday - Decent, cold in the morning.
Went shopping with S, couldn't get my PIN for my debit card to work. Fortunately I was able to borrow some actual physical $$ from S.
She helped me pick out a ham for Xmas dinner.
Not much else going on. Did a bunch of wash, and the usual
household chores, in the afternoon. Trying to get ahead of the Christmas
cleaning.
