Saturday - A minor relapse. Maybe working all day, doing chores, then driving for a few hours isn't a good way to recover from a cold?

I didn't feel too bad, but I'd gone through four handkerchiefs by noon, so I didn't go an visit with friends like I'd planned. (for a birthday party) This head cold just doesn't want to let go, I really shouldn't pass it around.

Mostly I did some minor household chores, petted the cats, watched TV.

Friday - OTR. Started a new street today, Violeta, so that's a plus! I was hoping to get off work early, but that didn't happen, so I took the time to do laundry and stuff at the Larkin place after work, before heading home about 8pm and arriving about 10pm.

It seems I see something odd or crazy every time I drive these days, in fact it adds interest to life, waiting for something to happen. On the trip home: someone in a compact (a Corolla or something) with a deers head hanging out the window; a small car pulling a utility trailer with over a dozen boxed big screen Samsung's in it up the grade...

The cats were happy to see me, and Glen had kept the heater on, so it was nice and comfortable inside: 60F, even though it dropped to near freezing overnight. Quite a change from the burdensome heat of Ventura's Santa Ana conditions.

The leaves on the tree in the front of the house have turned, and the same for most of the fruit trees in the back. The peach tree has already lost all it's leaves, and of course the tomato plants are dead.

Tuesday - OTR. Still ill, but MUCH improved. More like a bad head cold again. I actually went out to the job site in the afternoon, unpaid, just to see what was going on.

Monday - OTR. Still ill, but slowing getting better.

Sunday 15 November  2015
Sunday - OTR. Slept in a bit. then hung out a bit, watched a bit of the Steeleer's-Brown's game on TV, then had lunch and had to head back to Ventura.


Back to Ventura in the afternoon, not feeling very good. In fact the cold had turned into the flu at some point and I was shivering so badly that the muscles in my back were hurting. Eventually I summoned up the energy to call Dave and tell him I couldn't make it and that I'd die if he didn't bring me some soup. He obliged with the chicken soup, and took a way a couple of boxes of stuff I use in the day to day inspections. Tim and Chris will cover for me for a couple of days.


I am actually sweating through the sheets, when I'm not shivering with cold here.
