Saturday - OTR. Got up, lazed around, then we went off to watch a 5K cross country that a friends daughter was racing in. Then various things around the house mostly, until a birthday party in the late afternoon / early evening.

Friday - OTR.

After work I headed down to Vista to visit with my friend for a couple of days. I had a bit of a head cold starting and dithered about going, but decided to go in the end.

The commute was fine, a bit slow where someone had gone off the road and down a gully near Western, but not too bad.

I was trying out using the iPhone with Google Maps, as I had a package to drop off at the Santa Fe Blvd exit, but they've "improved" GM to an unfortunate point. It used to just say things like "Stay right for the exit ahead" but now it's overly precise and says things like "Stay in the right two lanes to exit ahead", which would be fine, except that they mean that the rightmost lane will split and become two lanes. If, as I was, you are not in the very rightmost lane you will be unable to merge right in commute traffic in time to make the exit. This and a couple of other things happened on the way down: GM isn't as good as Magellan or TomTom and probably shouldn't try to be.

Sunday - Slept in a bit. then did laundry and some chores, then got ready to head back to Ventura.


Back to Ventura in the afternoon, not wanting to wait too long.


I am actually more sore, almost bruised, on my hips from laying on the hard ground than I am anywhere else...
