Saturday - On the road, late morning, off home to Lancaster. Sigh.

A nice drive - from Santa Barbara to New Cuyama I saw no one else going east on CA-166. A bit of a slowdown on the Grapevine, but home at a reasonable hour to a nice clean cool(ish) house, happy indoor cats and happy outdoor dogs.  The turtle could care less...

Friday - Not much to say, it's vacation....

His parents took K to the airport, then spent a couple of hours in SLO doing various things.

I spent a few hours on the beach. Just relaxing - nothing even worth taking a picture of....

Thursday - Not much to say. Kicking back for the most part.

We did get out to the bluffs north of town and walked down to the beach from there. Much rockier than the southern portion. Kirk and I walked back to town and met up with R&S and had lunch at the "Smokehouse". Very tasty.

Wednesday - Not much to say. Taking it easy...

Visited a local horticultural garden. Had lunch at the Bayside Cafe, at the south end of Morro Bay. Very tasty.

Monday - Happy 4th of July!

More walking about.  I didn't go to the parade, but I did drive Roger over, he was in his usual over the top getup.

We had a nice tri-tip dinner, though as always there were issues with the barbecue temperatures.

There was the usual crush of people trying to get out of Cayucos after the fireworks - even Hwy-1 was jammed and stop-and-go for a couple of hourse. They didn't have any fireworks in Morro Bay, so perhaps the crowd was bigger than usual.

Sunday - I did some walking on the beach, generally enjoying life. Quite the crush there, as busy as I've ever seen it. Kind of like going to a Los Angeles beach on a normal day.


We picked up Kirk at the SLO airport, he's here for almost the entire week. Yay! It's not clear if his sister will be able to make it.
