Friday - Hot. Prepping for the trip. Not as much stuff to bring as usual. 

My friend C has enlisted herself to watch the cats (inside) and dogs(outside) at the house here.

Thursday - Hot. Prepping for the Cayucos trip.

Looks like my visits to siblings are falling through - B has company at his 2 bedroom place, and I haven't heard back from K except for a tirade about fake news and Trump and Russia.

 Whatever.  The friends in Idaho are out of town, a medical thing, so it's a week at the beach and a return to the garden spot of California, Lancaster.

Wednesday - Working away on this and that. Cleaning up around the house and yard as best I can in the limited hours before it it's 100F, usually 9:30 or 10:00am.  Yuck.

S is bringing over all five Chihuahua's, so I'm dog-proofing the yard again.  It's mostly done already, but she had one dog that loves to climb, I've a picture of it in a Tree!

Tuesday - Gave the car a quick exterior wash in the morning. Added some radiator fluid.  I did an oil change a few weeks ago, so I'm good to go.  Except that the CD player is broken...

Monday - Hot, hot, hot.

I put up some localized netting at S's place, and my own.  I actually bought some 3/4" pvc to make a cage to throw the nets over the entire tree, but it didn't really work out as well as I thought it work.  Kind of a waste of money, really.

Sunday 25 June  2017
Sunday - Another warm day. As in frickin' roasting.  Over 108F officially.  More than 110F in my back yard. Yesterday and Friday were even hotter.  About half the tomato plants are dead, despite steady watering.

I've set my lawns to be watered daily.  And have been doing it a second time on the very hottest days.  The back lawn is green but mostly weeds and gophers.  The front is just barely holding it's own, lots of bare spots.

I picked up some netting, and will try to net my peaches tomorrow.


Too darn hot to work outside, and too darn hot to work inside, really. I'm trying to set up a post-Cayucos visit up north to visit my brother and sister and a friend.
