Saturday - Warm.


I put a first coat of primer (the BZ) on the back of the garage.  It'll need a second coat in a number of spots, but it's a start. It's really hard to paint white-on-white in the direct desert summer sun BTW.  I was actually wearing sunglasses to paint!


Went to lunch with R&S.  It's rarer, now that I'm out in the sticks with an ancient car.  But I needed to make a Home Depot run anyway.


Went to dinner with C&R and the kids (steak!) and picked up my keys.  Got the name of a termite guy they like.

Friday - Decent weather.

I've ordered a few books online, for the coast, if I go.


My brother sent me a couple of pics of a boat sunk in Lake Tahoe, only the sail sticking up.  It made my skin crawl.


C&R are back from Hawaii, and she came by and took Sam home.    I stupidly sent my house keys with therm, in the bag with the leashes.  Well, I've a spare, I can get them tomorrow.

Thursday - Warm, but not horrible.

Went down to UCLA with S.  Traffic was bad for a mid-week mid-morning run, but we mostly stuck to the car pool lane and did OK.  We did see the Highway Patrol pull over another vehicle illegally in the carpool lane (one person) on the way down, and a multi-car rear-ending accident on the way home.

Wednesday - Warm.

The termite guy that stood me up on Friday texted, wanting to "schedule a new appointment". I told him no.

Scraping and wire brushing the loose paint off the back of the garage. It was worse than I expected, up close.  My hands are beginning to hurt.  I read up on the fiberboard and the various blogs and forums suggest using Bin Zinsser as the base primer if the wood(ish) material is exposed.  Fortunately I have an entire gallon of it.

Monday - Nice.

Got a couple of texts from TD, at the River Walk in San Antonio.

Sam is doing fine.  I was worried about the heat, but she actually seeks out the sun and lays in the warmest spot.  At night I bring her into the house, and she sleeps in her little crate.

Sunday - Warm again.


No shopping, S is out of town visiting N up in San Francisco.  I stocked up extra last week.


Mostly just took it easy. It's hard to do, I always have chores of some kind to do around here.
