WEEK 17 2020
Last Week- Sun- Mon- Tue- Wed- Thur- Fri- Sat- Next Week
Saturday -Starting to get warm again.
I need to get on the roof and get the swamp cooler ready for summer.
Though there is always a cool period after this first hot time.
Friday - Nice weather.
It seems odd, this time of year, without the noise of a heater or an air conditioner in the background. Nice...but odd.
When I went to get propane the other day I noticed that the Oleanders were dead in the planters. Looking around, the same was true all over town and even in the rural areas. I assumed a blight, but the farmer neighbor said it's due to the repeated snowfalls we've had, they are weak against cold.
Book #17 was False Value (Rivers of London #8), by Ben Aaronovitch. Enjoyable.
Thursday - Still reasonable weather.
I got a text from my sister V, she mentions that the refinery in Martinez, the one behind our old house, is shutting down, due to lack of demand for gas.
I got a text from my niece K, she's assembling a doughboy pool in her backyard, looks like it will get a lot of use this year! Leslie's Pools are considered an "essential" business and exempt from the lockdown...
No hot water in the morning, propane tank was empty. I was just going to go to the place here in the Acres, but AH needed to go, so we used my truck and went into Costco. It took a while because one of their fill valves was broken, but no big deal.
Wednesday - Warm, some high clouds.
Continuing to weed whack the enclosed area...but the remaining weeks are quite literally waist high, the little whacker just isn't up to it.
And, to be honest, neither are my hands, which are starting to swell and hurt. Bah.
Tuesday - Nice weather.
Not much going on, working around the house on various things.
Monday -Nice weather.
My sister mentioned she's dealing with a Medicare application, and it's a nightmare. Something to look forward to...
Sunday - Reasonably warm.
I tarted doing some cleanup in the back yard.
The growth in weeds over the last week was phenomenal. I'll have to wait a couple of days before cutting them, everything is still too damp.
But I did get the tricycle weed whacker out, and started removing all the debris that had accumulated back in the dog run area - ladders, blocks, bricks, fence post stanchions, tree supports, chairs, and other stuff. Much of it almost hidden by the knee high weeds.
Not much going on, otherwise. I did a bit of reading, and some house work. I seem to be doing more house work than ever, it's strange.
The corona-virus stuff is still going on. S and I will head over to WinCo tomorrow morning.
