Saturday - Pretty darn tired.  Mostly just laid around the house.  I had an invite from friends to go to the Los Angeles Air Show going on this weekend, but took a rain check.  I've seen a lot of air shows...

Friday - Dry and warm during the day, but getting cool and a bit windy in the late afternoon.

Tim called in the morning, and said he and the family were down with some sort of respiratory infection, and wouldn't be coming.  Well, can't be helped. I am sure the Brown's will be sorry to miss them, but no-one wants to get sick.  And traveling with sick children, even pre-teens, isn't much fun...

Upon hearing of his cancellation a few other people canceled (I guess I'm the b-list host...) and someone else canceled due to sickness...

The H family came by, and S, but that was about it. Still we had burgers and fixings, and pie, and everyone had a good time I think.

My 'BBQ of Death' did it again, this time there were flames shooting out of the bottom that almost burned through the propane line and were far to close to the tank proper.  Gahhh.  We finished cooking everything inside instead.  It was too darn cold outside by that time anyway.

I've been hearing aircraft practicing for the upcoming air show all week. I'll have to see if I can get a shot of the Thunderbirds passing over the house.

Tuesday - Cooling down for sure.

Working away on this and that.


Book #14 was The Hanging Tree (Rivers of London), by Ben Aaronovitch.   The police procedural / occult mystery stuff continues.  Enjoyable.

Monday - Working away on various things. 

Cleaning still, though the big stuff is done.

Working on the app, a little bit on the finite element stuff.

Sunday - Another warm day, but as the weathermen warned, not a warm as yesterday.  It's supposed to get cooler all week, maybe even some rain!

Glen and I did the upstairs carpets.  Rather than carry everything downstairs we just stashed assorted bit of furniture and bric-a-brac  in one of the small bedrooms and will clean that room at some future date.

I was actually locked inside the downstairs hall bathroom for a while - the knob's been sticky for a while, and finally locked up completely.  Fortunately I was rescued fairly quickly, but I guess I need to swap out all of them - this is the third or fourth knob to do this - they are all about 30 years old and I guess the interior works are failing.


I took the boys and S out for burger's, to thank them for helping me out with this stuff...
